Niagara Falls Tour USA — Maid of the Mist & Cave of the Winds

US-side Niagara Falls tours range from $39 (night illumination tour) to $299 (boat + helicopter combo). The featured combo tour — Maid of the Mist, Cave of the Winds, and Observation Deck with a local guide — starts from $115 per person. All admission tickets are included in the price.

Absolutely. The US side offers two experiences you can't get from Canada: Cave of the Winds puts you 20 feet from Bridal Veil Falls on the Hurricane Deck, and the Maid of the Mist departs from the US side of Goat Island. Niagara Falls State Park — America's oldest state park — is free to enter. The featured tour is rated 4.9/5 on GetYourGuide.

Different experiences. The Canadian side offers panoramic views of the falls from above. The US side gets you closer — Cave of the Winds is only accessible from the American side, and the Maid of the Mist launches from Goat Island. The full combo tour shows all three waterfalls from the Observation Deck, the river, and the gorge. See our complete US vs Canada side guide for border crossing logistics, parking, cost, and photo angle comparisons.

The guided combo tour does Maid of the Mist first, then Cave of the Winds. This lets you start with the boat ride when morning crowds are lighter, then descend to the Hurricane Deck. The full sequence takes about 3 hours with a local guide handling the logistics.

Not an official one in 2026: the boat and Cave of the Winds are sold separately, by different operators. Bought yourself, the two adult tickets come to $53.25 until October 18 ($30.25 + $23). Guided combo tours include both admissions plus a guide, from $99 per person. Our combo ticket guide compares the options and what each includes.

A Maid of the Mist ticket bought directly from the boat company is $30.25 for adults in 2026. A guided tour with the Maid of the Mist cruise starts from $57 per person. For a guided combo with Cave of the Winds as well, expect $99–$139; there is no official combo ticket, see our combo ticket guide. All boat tours include a provided poncho. See our Maid of the Mist vs Hornblower guide if you're also considering the Canadian side boat tour.

A scenic helicopter flight over Niagara Falls starts from $192 per person. It's a quick flight giving you aerial views of all three waterfalls, the gorge, and the surrounding parkland. A premium combo that includes the boat tour plus a helicopter ride starts from $299.

Niagara Falls State Park itself is free to enter — you can walk right up to the falls at no cost. However, individual attractions charge separately: Maid of the Mist, Cave of the Winds, and the Observation Deck each require tickets. The combo tour at $115 bundles all three with a guide.

The Maid of the Mist typically operates from mid-May through late October, weather permitting. Cave of the Winds runs a similar season, mid-May through mid-October. The nightly falls illumination runs year-round. Check availability for your specific dates when booking.

Peak season is June through August — the warmest weather and longest hours. For fewer crowds and lower prices, visit in May or September–October. Fireworks displays run on select summer nights. The night illumination tour (from $39) is available throughout the season. See our month-by-month guide for temperature ranges, crowd levels, and which attractions are open in each season.

The featured tour meets at 333 Prospect St, outside the Hard Rock Cafe in Niagara Falls, NY. Free parking is available at the Seneca Niagara Casino, 6 blocks away. The tour runs 3 hours. Wear waterproof shoes — you will get wet. Free cancellation is available up to 24 hours before departure. See our full tour-day guide for the complete sequence, what to bring, and how wet each stop actually gets.

Yes. The falls are illuminated every night year-round with a colourful light show. A dedicated night tour with fireworks starts from $39 per person (129 reviews, 4.8/5). There's also a day-and-night combo tour that includes the light show and a boat ride from $139.

Stay near Niagara Falls State Park for walking distance to the falls. The tour meeting point is at 333 Prospect St. Buffalo Niagara International Airport is about 30 minutes by car. Hotels along the Niagara Falls Boulevard and near the Seneca Niagara Casino area offer good value with easy access to the park.
